When you judge pokemon from their origins rather than they joy they bring you, I feel bad for you.
This is the dumbest shit ever.
The animal theme is just what started pokemon. Why should it matter if pokemon are based off of animals or inanimate everyday objects? That’s not what Pokemon is about. It’s about your journey to become the Pokemon Champion, the bonds you make with you pokemon, and the friends you make along the way.
Pokemon isn’t less fun for me now since I got my first copy of Pokemon Red all those years ago. The gaming and story of pokemon has only gotten better and more complex since the game first came out. It’s constantly being improved, and honestly, they were gonna run out of animals eventually for them to use, there are only so many animals in the world, and had to move onto some sort of other motifs at some point.
And it’s not like there is no pokemon based off of animals anymore. They still have plenty of those in Black and White as well.
This is nothing but “original” pokemon fan elitism. :/
