Oh hello anon.
Let’s see I cosplay for the most part from series I enjoy and love. The only thing that comes to mind that I’m cosplaying from something I haven’t even attempted to get into is Homestuck.
And while there are some things out there I agreed to cosplay with before really knowing what it was, and kinda touched upon it, those cosplays have always been for my friends. I like cosplaying with my friends, and making them happy, so I agree to cosplay things without much thought if I know it makes them happy. After all I know I rope them into countless things as well. (See: all the Hetalia ever)
Though I won’t lie about liking attention. I do like some attention. I’m a cosplayer after all. I think all cosplayers like at least some degree of attention.
But for the most part cosplay is for fun. I wouldn’t be able to handle this hobby if the fun factor wasn’t a priority ‘cuz this hobby seriously stresses me out at times, and there are times I really hate it. lolz
But yeah, I can see where you thought that anon, so no worries. I know I’m weird.
